Systems Architecture

Architecting IT solutions to meet business requirements has been something I have been doing for years starting with my experience with IBM mainframes to my current experience with Windows servers, VMWare virtualization and EMC and IBM storage.

I have had experience in many industries including manufacturing, distribution, finance, higher education and my most recent experience in health care.

I have architected IT infrastructure solutions for many applications including PACs, Electronic ICU web monitoring, ECW physician office electronic medical records and office management and most recently, Meditech.

During my time at Steward Health Care, we implemented Meditech Client/Server to support 10 acute care hospitals.  Being the principal HIS for the system, we continue enhance the benefits of the system especially in the areas of:

• Patient access to medical information through a patient portal
• leveraging to efficiency to meet regulatory requirements (e.g. ICD-10)
• the industry shift from pay-for-volume to pay-for-value
• meaningful use data analytics
• security control of patient data meeting HIPAA regulatory compliance.
