Instructor – Washington County Community College

I have recently accepted a teaching position, instructing students in Computer Technology at Washington County Community College in Calais, ME as part of a two year TAACCCT grant funded by the Department of Labor.

My responsibilities include:

  • Design and teach an Associate in Applied Science in Computer Technology degree program as part of a two year TAACCCT grant from the federal Department of Labor in association with the Department of Education.
  • Course development and instruction: The Fall 2014 semester will teach entry level computer skills with a focus on attaining A+ certification.
  • Coordinate course offerings from surrounding community colleges to expand the training opportunities offered to WCCC students.
  • Recruit students from local high schools and the workforce pools seeking program participants who are either initially entering the labor market or are interested in career changes into the computer technology arena.

The TAACCCT (Trade Adjustment Assistance Community College and Career Training) grant program provides community colleges with funds to expand their ability to deliver career training programs to students for employment in high-skill occupations.
